Oooohhhhh-la-lash!

I envy girls who are blessed with long, attractive eyelashes. Mine are short and sparse. I have always wanted thick, lush-looking eyelashes because they create an intense and dramatic look and can enhance and brighten one’s face instantly. My friends suggest I get extensions but honestly I don’t want one because I don’t think I can maintain and care for them properly.

I did some research on how to enhance the growth and thickness of eyelashes and one of the suggestions I have read is to apply castor oil on them. Since this is the cheapest and most convenient way (castor oil can be bought from drugstores), I tried my luck. I bought a small bottle of castor oil from Mercury Drugstore. It costs around P30 plus.  For almost a month I was diligent to apply it on my eyelashes before going to sleep. I then got busy at work and was too lazy to do the application until I totally forgot about it. Two weeks ago I saw my castor oil bottle filled with dust already so I threw it straight to the trash bin.

I also tried applying Vaseline to my eyelashes but since it is oily, it doesn’t get easily absorbed. Whenever I would go to bed, I could feel that oily thing seeping through my eyes. I was afraid I might get an eye irritation or even lose my sight so I stopped using it.

My office mate C told me to trim my eyelashes so that they will grow fuller. I told her that it is effective on babies and kids only. I remember my high school friend C who has  gorgeous eyelashes because her mother trimmed them when she was a baby.  Eventually, her lashes grew beautifully you can actually balance a match stick on them. Anyway, I didn't trim mine because I am afraid they will never grow back.

I saw this while surfing the net.
“Our award-winning Eyelash Tonic helps nourish weak lashes prone to breakages.
The brush coats each lash from root to tip with beneficial botanicals.
Use as a mascara base or simply on its own to help create healthier-looking lashes.
Ginseng, aloe and swertia japonica protect, nourish and condition.”

DHC (Daigaku Honyaku Center) is a famous beauty brand from Japan. It is a manufacturer of cosmetics and health food supplements and is headquartered in Tokyo.

I bought my eyelash tonic on Ebay for P399 with free shipping. It is colorless and odorless and has a gel-like consistency. The instruction is to apply it just like regular mascara twice a day- once in the morning and another in the evening.

What I like about the product is that it is not oily and heavy when applied to the eyes. On the other hand, I don’t like the application brush as it is hard and stiff so it gets really painful when I accidentally prick my eye ball when I apply to the eyelashes on the corner of my eyes.

I have been using it for almost a week. No visible results yet. I do the application as instructed and I plan to do so until I finish it. No more lazy times for me please! I really want to achieve my dream lashes.

I saw the Ardell Brow & Eyelash Growth Accelerator Treatment Gel in Watson’s last Friday. There are also lots of great reviews about the product. It costs P580, quite more expensive than DHC. Nope, I didn’t buy one yet, although I admit I was itching to do so! I thought I might as well finish the DHC first and see if it will give me good results.  Otherwise, I will go back to Watson’s and buy Ardell.

Do you know any product that might help me? Share it here pretty please.. :)

I'd heard about the Vaseline trick, and I've tried it, but I honestly don't like it at all- it's very annoying. And I don't find it effective either. I've actually never heard of this product before.. I guess it is worth a try. At least it isn't annoying like Vaseline :P But I have heard of the L'Oreal lash growth product, and people have said it really works. Only thing is I think it may be a bit pricey.

Read authentic and unbiased eyelash reviews as much as possible for you to be able to get some idea if your prospective eyelash growth products are working or not.
